Bright And Light Easter Bunny Party

The thing I love the most about Spring is the world coming back to life after a dark winter. The days get longer, we actually see the sun and beautiful blooms of flowers start popping up every where.

I wanted to create a bright and light Easter set up that matches how my soul feels this time of year. Nice and airy with lots of hope of warmer beautiful days ahead.

Earlier this year Erin and I celebrated our kids, Davis and Clara’s (Scout) 13th Bday with a 2D black and white party set up. I loved the outcome of the look and felt using the same technique of a white wall and white elements mixed with black outlining on the walls and table would look amazing with added pops of color. Easter was the perfect opportunity to give this look a go and I adore how it turned out in the end.

Added benefit, my friend Stefani helped pull this look together by adding ideas to the vision, bringing beautiful flowers, creating the candy charcuterie boards, bouncing ideas off of and she set up the table layout. She clearly has a knack for this!

For the cake and cupcakes I employed our favorite trick, order them from the local grocery store bakery frosted but not decorated and then simply decorate them at home. I used the Wilton sugar bunny ears and face for the cake and their little sugar bunnies for the cupcakes.

The framed pictures on the wall were perhaps the biggest bang for my buck. I purchased the prints on etsy, had them printed at Walgreens and then used 1/2 inch gaffers tape to create the frames on the wall. Gaffers tape is really gentle on surfaces and should not cause any damage. I used 1 inch gaffers tape to create the chair rail and wall detail at the base. I eye balled it not worrying about if my lines were perfect as I placed the tape. I feel the imperfections add to the cartoonish/hand drawn look. I lined the table and fixtures on the top with 1/4in - 1/2in black tape. For the floor I used white photographers backdrop paper. The simple technique of adding black tape to a white wall adds an amazing pop to the look and it is so easy to do and affordable.

I used bright LED lights to help the look pop but truthfully, the look was still absolutely adorable without all of the lighting.

The candy, bunny boxes, straws, grass, eggs, etc I gradually collected over the month prior as Easter items hit the shelves at my local grocery store, Target and dollar store. I knew I wanted to do pops of color with a focus on bunnies so I kept that in mind as I was purchasing items.

This party set up turned out incredibly cute and even better than I had imagined. It was hard for me to scale back from my usual layout but so glad I held back a bit so everything could pop perfectly. I truly enjoyed getting to create this look with my friend, Stefani as well and appreciate her help and creative input.

I hope you’ve enjoyed this party look and are inspired to create something similar for an upcoming celebration of your own!
