Emerson's Boho Sweet Sixteen
I recently had the opportunity to help our talented and incredibly sweet neighbor, Emerson, celebrate her sixteenth birthday in Boho style. Emerson and her friends enjoyed an amazing day together in honor of her milestone birthday. The guest arrived around lunch time and were greeted by the playful “16” balloon installation and photo backdrop.
The guests were treated to a quick snack, and then once everyone had arrived, they boarded a party bus that took them to locations around Seattle including local murals, the Great Wheel on the waterfront and Dick’s Burgers. After their city tour, they all came back to the house to a beautiful dessert display that included an amazing cake created by Emerson’s grandma.
The light up marquee numbers were rented from AlphaLit Seattle. This company is great to work with and we have used then several times now in our designs. We surrounded the 4 ft. numbers with lots of shades of muted pink balloons that were linked below. This combination was created with a double stuffed garland kit and adding the canyon pink in three different sizes, links for purchase included at the bottom.
I am finding one of the keys to creating a Boho designed celebration table is to keep a muted color scheme and use lots of varied textures. With the Boho vibe, items don’t have to line up perfectly or even match, as long as there is some continuity in style and design it is fun to play with because anything goes. I do feel like the Boho botanical elements do really help achieve the desired look.
I lucked out and found a lot of these little round food risers in the Target Dollar Spot. They came in a package of two for $5 and they add a lot to this table. I also like the way that the candy favor boxes are displayed in the wooden step riser.
The water bottle labels were made with an editable design from MarryMe Paper Boutique on Etsy. These were easy to use and edit and I printed them on printable vinyl so the design wouldn’t smudge if it got wet. I also created the art for the candy box stickers and Italian soda cups with designs created in Canva Pro and cut on my Silhouette Cameo electronic cutting machine.
