Joanna's Baby Shower - Elegant Farmhouse Style

We had the amazing opportunity to help popular Instagram influencer, @targettherapy - Joanna with planning her baby shower. Joanna is expecting her first child, a baby girl and we were so pleased to help her celebrate. The shower was a small event for close friends and family. Joanna loves to plan parties and had a strong vision for the theme, look and party elements. We were excited for the opportunity to help her bring her vision to life as well as feature this beautiful party here on our blog.

As guests arrived, they were greeted by a beautiful “welcome” sign. To achieve this look, we printed the custom sign at Fedex Kinko’s for approximately $50 and then mounted it on a foam board using a spray adhesive. To top off the look, we put together a balloon garland, garnished it with eucalyptus and placed it on a simple wooden easel. It was a lovely way to set the scene and welcome guests.

Main food table spread and decor

Once entered into the home, guests were greeted by a beautiful spread. Joanna lined the table with a lightweight linen tablecloth and kept the styling simple and elegant. The crisp white serving dishes, wood charcuterie board and stunning flowers were the perfect eye catching layout. We added the balloon garland on the lighting fixture above the table for a pop of color and to tie in the decor to the outside. Catering was provided by Tuxedos and Tennis Shoes Catering.

Outdoor party elements

The main gathering place for guests was in the backyard. There was a seating area with a photobook activity, two tables where guests could sit down to eat and the gift area.

Outdoor dining area

The outdoor tables and chairs were rented from Grand Event Rentals. To decorate the tables, we went with a soft and simple, romantic look by adding a pink chiffon table runner, glass hurricane candle holders, 2 1/2” x 3” white pillar candles and fresh eucalyptus.

“Baby” marquee lights with balloon installation

The Marquee letters were rented by a company called Alphalit. They can spell out anything and can even stack the letters to create a unique and personalized backdrop. We used a mixture of pink and white balloons in 5”, 11” 16” and a few 36”. We added in a handful of solid rose gold and rose gold confetti balloons to add dimension. When creating balloon installations, we prefer to use Qualatex balloons when at all possible. They offer a great collection of sizes and colors, are really high quality making them easier to work with and, most importantly, are biodegradable. Check out the order links below for specific colors used in this at this event.

Cake and cookies

Joanna ordered the most beautiful (and perfect) cookies from Raining Cookies and the cupcakes and cake were made by Jenny Cookies. To complete the look, the cake was topped with a personalized cake topper created by Lancaster Laser Co. The gold finish stands out against the pink balloon backdrop.

Thinking through small details can make a big impact on guests. Joanna had lovely tags customized by The Lettering Munch with each guests name on them. The personalized tags were tied to acrylic mason jars with a soft pink ribbon and accented with gold chevron paper straw.

Selfie station activity and messages for Baby Cappetto

Joanna selected the baby shower book from Luna Paper Company as a keepsake for Baby girl. Guests were able to take pictures with a Polaroid camera, include personalized message and embellish their pages with adorable baby stickers within the pages of the book.

Baby Shower “Late night diaper” activity

The guests participated in writing messages on diapers for the soon to be sleepless parents to read during middle of the night diaper changes. The late night diapers activity was complete with a lovely sign design by Willow Lane Paperie. The signs come in easy editable templates that you can customize and print yourself. These signs looked lovely in simple, gray washed wood frames. This one is from Target.

It worked out perfectly that Joanna received a changing table as a gift before the shower. We were able to use the table as a party element as a place to hold the gifts. We added a cluster of pink balloons and it turned out incredibly cute!

Champagne shower favors

As a thank you gift for guests, Joanna put together small champagne bottles with a tag that read “Enjoy a toast when Baby Cappetto arrives”. The tags were editable from Willow Lane Paperie and found on Etsy. Jo then tied them to each bottle with a perfect pink bow. The mini pink champagne bottles were arranged in rows on a decorative table with a matching sign by Willow Lane Paperie by the door so guests could grab this fabulous favor the on their way out.

The entire shower was beautifully captured in photos and featured here by the talented Sara Anne Photography

We were honored Joanna invited us to take part in her special day and we are so excited for her new adventure into Motherhood. One thing we know for sure, Baby girl Capetto has an amazing Momma who already loves her beyond words.
