Carrot Craze - Kid's Easter Party

Carrot Craze - Kid’s Easter Party

Every year our neighborhood throws the most amazing Easter Egg Hunt. We all donate egg stuffing materials to the recycled eggs, bring a potluck of baked goodies, and gather together in the park. The Easter Bunny has been known to make a grand appearance, like the year he rolled up in an Aston Martin convertible. Somehow we always end up with a little sun on the day of the hunt, which is a big deal for a spring event in western Washington. This special event brings our community together and has become a treasured memory for my family.

This year we had hoped to have some friends over for the egg hunt and then stay for a sweet little Easter Party afterwards. I was so excited about the incredibly adorable Meri Meri party supplies I had collected and the crafting ideas I had come up with months ago. BUT…just like everyone else, our little Easter party plans have to be put on hold due to the Covid-19 outbreak. Instead of dwelling on what we can’t do, my daughters and I decided to focus on the celebrating what we can still do as a family. Today we decided to set it up anyway, just to make our hearts happy over the next week!

While we have yet to bake our Easter treats to complete the look, most of the bunny and carrot accessories from this set up are from Meri Meri brand of party supplies: bunny plates, carrot napkins, bunny cups, and bunny gift bags. The bunny and carrot felt banner was an inexpensive option in this year’s Easter decor at Target, along with the felt daisy garland (which is no longer available online). Since I was unable to get to my favorite flower market, I used my Silhouette Cameo paper cutter to create a fun spring collection. I wrapped wooden BBQ skewers in floral tape and attached the flowers and leaves with a glue gun. I wrapped some old floral foam with white tissue and stuck the skewers into the foam. The box with white picket fence was re-used from a different party.

The bunny crowns are an Elum Paper Co. product, although I added 3-D flowers that I made so they coordinated better with the table set up.

These Elum brand Egg Hunt Sticks looked adorable in our yard (which is in need of some major TLC this year) and I will look forward to putting them to use in egg hunts in the future.
