You've been Boo'd!!

You've been Boo'd!!

Getting BOOED is one of my children’s favorite parts about October. It has become more important this year as it is something that can still be done with social distance!

For those that are new to BOO-ing, someone starts the original BOO by leaving a small Halloween themed gift or treat on a friend or neighbors porch as secretly as possible. Included in the gift are instructions and a sign to place on your front porch to indicate that you have been BOOED. And then it is your turn to BOO!

The blog Paging Super Mom has created the most adorable free printables that make the process easy, even for first time Boo-ers! Here’s what you do:

  • Display the “We’ve Been BOOED” sign by your front door & Enjoy the treats!

  • Choose 2 homes to BOO - Print the signs, make a little treat and attach the BOO tags

  • Deliver the BOO treats to a front porch as secretly as possible

Before long everyone in your neighborhood will be in on the seasonal fun!

I couldn’t decide whether to use the fun pink pastel or traditional black bags this year, but either way, they pair great with these printables, black and white striped ribbon, and are easy to create! They will sure be appreciated by whomever you choose to BOO!

You can include anything you want in your BOO treat. The Printable tags included in the set from Paging Super Mom can be added to any size bag or box. This year, we found a few non-edible treats, a little candy and then Halloween themed snacks like Halloween fruit snacks, Halloween pretzels and Halloween cookies. In years past we have received a cookie decorating kit, a box or Count Chocula cereal, Halloween signs, and of course delicious candy treats!

The adults in our neighborhood also send around a special “Boo”ze treat if you want to go the adult route. Any way you do it, it brings playful fun and creates connection within your neighborhood!
